Original reduction linocut of Threave Castle on the River Dee near Castle Douglas, South West Scotland.
This castle was the stronghold of the notorious Black Douglas clan and built in 1369 by Archibald 'The Grim'!
The lands around the castle are now a reinstated wetland, providing a much needed habitat for wildfoul and nesting birds. This site is also famous for a breeding pair of osprey who are the first to migrate to the UK in the summer months to hatch and raise their young.
